Terms of service

1. Who we are

These terms are a contract between you and Mirage Informatique, an independent game studio in Quebec. Our privacy practices are described in the privacy policy.

2. Acceptance and age

• You accept these terms by turning online play on in the consent card. Without accepting, you play offline, against bots.
• Online play is for people 14 or older. Under 14, the game stays offline.

3. Your right to use the game

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use our games for your entertainment, not for commercial use. The game, its characters, art, sounds and code remain the property of Mirage Informatique.

4. Fair play

Online, you fight other people's cars. To keep it fun for everyone, you agree to:

• use the official app, as distributed through Google Play;
• not try to disrupt or overload the service, or access other people's accounts or data;
• not sell, buy or share accounts or player codes;
• report in good faith: a false report is itself abuse.

5. Cheating

Cheating includes, for example:

• modifying the app, its save or its data to upload a car or results the normal game would not produce;
• sending requests to the server other than through the game (scripts, bots, automated tools);
• deliberately exploiting a bug instead of reporting it to us;
• creating several accounts to report, match or boost each other.

The server checks every car against the game's rules and computes its rating itself. A rejected car is simply not used online.

6. Restrictions and bans

• Shadow restriction: an account that looks like it cheats may be limited without notice, for example matched only with similar accounts, or have its car taken out of matchmaking. The game keeps working normally for you. We do it this way so cheaters cannot easily work around it.
• Ban: for serious or repeated cheating, we may cut the account's online access. The game tells you; your offline progress stays intact.
• Reports alone never restrict an account: a person checks. If automatic rules go live, the privacy policy will say so first.
• Review: if you think a measure is a mistake, write to support@miragehosting.com with your player code. We will tell you whether your account is limited and why, and review the decision.

7. What other players see

When your car is picked as an opponent, other players see your generated nickname, your car (body, parts, paint), your trophies rounded to the nearest 50 and the tag "PLAYER". They never see your player code. There is no chat and no free text. A player can block or report you; you can do the same.

We never present a bot as a person.

8. Your car

By turning online play on, you let us keep your car snapshot and show it to other players as an opponent, for as long as your account exists. This permission ends when you delete your online data.

9. No prizes

• Online fights pay nothing: no in-game currency, no items, no money. Leaderboards, if there ever are any, are "for fun, no prizes".
• In-game items and currency have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not your property outside the game.

10. Purchases and ads

In-app purchases, if any, are made through Google Play, under Google's terms, refunds included. Ads, if any, are provided by Google. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act or any other law that applies to you.

11. Availability of online play

Online play is offered as is, on top of the offline game. It may be interrupted by an outage or maintenance; the game then switches to bots automatically. We may change or stop an online feature; if we stop a game's whole online service, we will announce it in the game or on this site at least 30 days ahead, and the offline game will keep working.

12. Termination

• You can stop at any time: turn online play off or delete your online data (Settings > Delete my online data, or the Delete your data page).
• We may end online access for an account that breaks these terms (section 6).
• An online account unused for 12 months is deleted automatically.

13. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Mirage Informatique is not liable for indirect losses related to online play, such as a service interruption. This clause does not apply where the law forbids it, including the Consumer Protection Act, and does not limit our liability for intentional or gross fault.

14. Changes

We publish each new version here, with its date. If a change is significant, the game will ask you to accept it before you keep playing online; if you say no, online play stays off and you can delete your data.

15. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the laws of Canada that apply there. They are written in French first; if they differ from the English version, the French version prevails.
